Who we are

KNIK was Alaska’s first FM radio station and one of the first stations in the nation to begin what is now known as “Smooth Jazz”. The station is recognized by Radio & Records, Billboard Magazine and The Gavin Report as a leader in the “Smooth Jazz” format.

The KNIK listener tends to be an active, involved consumer with diverse interests. Scoring off the board in virtually all athletic pursuits, our listeners enjoy an array of sporting interests that often go hand-in-hand with an upscale lifestyle. And when they slip out of their tennis shoes, you may find them in professional occupations, visiting a museum, cooking up a gourmet meal, viewing the latest movie or traveling for both business and pleasure.

Targeted balance between 51% male and 49% female

Active listeners in key demographics: 67% of listeners are aged 25-54; 81% aged 18-49.
Effectively targets listeners with household incomes of $40,000 and over.

High household incomes are accompanied by higher levels of education and professional achievement. (Simmons Survey – Adults 18+; Jazz/New AC M-Su 6a-12m Cume) The Breeze offers advertisers the opportunity to affordably reach an active, upscale potential customer with their advertising message.

The Breeze has raised the standards for adult radio in the Anchorage market. The mix of fresh Smooth Jazz instrumentals and Cool Vocals by the artists of the New Adult Contemporary (NAC) genre has provided a listening alternative previously lacking in the Anchorage market.
